Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are an out-of-network provider, meaning we do not work with any insurance companies and are not bound by their limitations. Payment is collected at the time of service, so you won't receive any unexpected medical bills from us. Your sessions will be one-on-one, allowing us to focus entirely on your needs—something that traditional insurance models often restrict. If needed, we can provide 'superbills' for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, but please check with your insurance company for their specific requirements and your out-of-network benefits. You can also use your FSA or HSA accounts. We accept all major credit cards, checks, cash, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

  • As you probably already know, working with insurance companies can be frustrating — from reimbursement issues and surprise patient bills to dictating how many sessions and what type of treatment each patient needs during their care. Being a fee-for-service practice, we can focus more time on your care without influence from insurance. Where many in-network clinics have to maintain a high volume of patients (even double-booking appointments) to make enough money through insurance, we’re able to focus on quality of care.

  • We take a holistic approach rather than focusing on just one specific body part. Our pelvic floor physical therapists are well-versed in orthopedic conditions because we understand that all parts of the body are interconnected.

  • Pelvic floor physical therapists specialize in addressing pelvic floor dysfunctions from an orthopedic lens, meaning we emphasize the significance of evaluating the entire body in relation to the pelvic floor.

  • A pelvic floor assessment is NEVER required and also does not have to be performed on your first visit or any visit if you do not feel comfortable. If the idea of an assessment makes you feel uncomfortable, that shouldn’t stop you from seeking help. There are many other ways we can help, which we can definitely talk about!

  • This is difficult to say as it varies based on the individual, their severity of symptoms, and their commitment to the treatment plan. Some patients feel improvements in just 2 visits, some take 10+ visits. However, most patients start to see improvements by the 6th visit. We highly recommend weekly sessions for the first 4 weeks. This will give us time to develop a treatment plan that is effective and sustainable.

Most of our patients stay on a maintenance program even after feeling better (monthly, bimonthly, quarterly) for a “tune up” and make sure they keep on track. Just like how people go to the dentist twice a year for maintenance!

  • We require at least 48 hours notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of sessions so it can give someone else a chance to book that slot. You can modify your appointment directly on the online booking portal as long as it is up to 48 hours before your session. After that, please contact your provider via email to notify them.

A no show or late cancel less than 48 hours will be charged a $100 fee. This fee does not apply for illness or medical emergencies.

  • No, you do not need a prescription or referral from a physician to see a physical therapist in Washington State. However, please check with your insurance company to verify if you will need to provide one for reimbursement.

  • Experiencing discomfort and irritation during the first few weeks of treatment is typically normal as new movements and exercises are introduced to your body, but please let us know if something doesn’t feel quite right.

  • As long as you are comfortable to come in, we’re still happy to work with you! Depending on how heavy you are menstruating, we may not do internal treatment and focus more on external treatment.

  • Even though our focus is on women, everyone has a pelvis and a pelvic floor! We can treat anyone experiencing pelvic floor conditions.

  • We recommend booking your first visit with us any time in your second trimester. Remember, labor is like a marathon so the earlier you prep, the more confident you will feel going into it!

  • We recommend booking your first postpartum visit any time between 6-8 weeks after delivery (whether it was via vaginal or cesarean section).

  • Please wear something comfortable (gym attire) that does not restrict your movement. We will likely ask you to perform movement patterns like bending and lifting and assess your hip mobility.

  • Yes, there is a small parking lot on-site and plenty of street parking in a quiet residential neighborhood.

  • Yes! You can absolutely bring your kiddo to our session :)

  • Yes, we do offer virtual visits! In-home visits will be on a case to case basis and will depend on your proximity to our clinic. We can talk more about it!
